Ellie Geary is a visual artist from the East Midlands based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK.
She explores themes of connection, memory, mimicry, and the environment primarily through collage and sculpture. Her keen interest in both the natural and the internal world is reflected in semi-abstract depictions of the planet’s elemental forms and forces as well as imagined versions of reality inspired by science-fiction theory and literature.
Ellie currently makes sculptural boxes and homewares from wood. These pieces function to hold items known only to the eventual owner which appeals to the artist’s appreciation of containers as a symbol for care, mystery and ongoing story.
